Sort your shapes out

Definitely been guilty of throwing a few dad moves out there... The bus driver being an all time classic, but really should not be attempted in public.

If you do anything today. Listen to Bastille

BASTILLE

I cannot WAIT for this!! Their album is out c7th March. Pre-order iTunes.....

I first heard them when I was in Ireland over the weekend, again another shazam moment. Pompeii is there current single, but I've been on youtube to check out the remainder of the album and it is on fire!

The band have been around since 2010. Seen at Leeds and Reading last year if you are very astute. They've been on tour supporting Two Door Cinema club, so I guess you could describe their music as of a similar vein, but I personally prefer their sound. The album is called Bad Blood and the track is a tune.

Their stuff has been featured on Made in Chelsea and Vampire Diaries. Pretty contemporary, easy to listen to and even better to sing along to when you think no one is watching.

Interestingly, their name came about as their lead singer was born on Bastille Day, 14th July, but I promise, this is the only french influence in sight.....

CLUBROOT

iii - mmxii and Clubroot

Back to dubstep

Forget the awful, painful sounds of transformers having intercourse. Dubstep has been given a bad name with appalling remixes, mainly due to Skrillex and idiots getting frisky with their synthesisers. This is actually good stuff and probably my favourite type of dubstep.

Leeds is FULL of electro house - which obviously I love, but I've always enjoyed dubstep/deep dub. I found this guy on a compilation by MrSuicideSheep on YouTube, I shazamed it as I thought it sounded pretty chilled. I've given all three albums on Spotify a listen and it's fucking superb.

Clubroot is an English producer, I'd never heard of him until recently, and it was a chance finding rather than via promotion. His stuff could be likened to Burial, but I feel that it's a bit more upbeat and fresh than that. A combination of eerie deep dub and d&b, I thought some of it sounded similar to Leftfield. Perfect for revising, chilling, background music. The base is sublime, my favourite tracks are from the self titled album, Dulcet and Lucid Dream. Just pretty fucking sick tracks. So turn up the volume, whap up the base and let your room vibrate to Clubroot.

Cara D plus Beanie

Hats off

Forget Millie Mackintosh's twitter account for her wide brimmed hats, Cara Delevingne is a woman on a mission, spreading the word for cool head gear. Usually spotted with cross eyes and a quirky grin, but more recently spotted posing in Trapstar beanies - along with pals Rita Ora and Rihanna.
Not content with publicising Trapstar, Delevingne is the poster girl for any sort of hat. Pompom, furry, fluffy, niche or otherwise. Here is a selection of my favourites...

I first read this to say Mince Pies.

Unsurprisingly Trapstar have sold out of most of the popular colours, so I'm aware that I'm massively late coming to the party. But if you don't mind wearing a whacky colour that probably isn't in sync with your greyscale colour code then go right ahead to their website.
I'm considering buying an orange one - mainly because I think orange will work fine for a brunette and its bladdy freezing outside!

There's only one major downside to Cara and her insane taste in fashion - and that is she is impossibly skinny. It would be ridiculous to try replicate this girl's frame, clothes just hang off her. However, this doesn't stop me and the rest of the world watching her each and every fashion moment in appreciation.

Nicole

Gold eyeliner wanted!

I had to post this stunning picture of Nicole Scherzinger. Good Lord, Jesus Christ this woman is fine!

Promoting her new song. I haven't heard it yet, but to be honest, I think I just want to see the video. Lewis Hamilton. Lucky guy.

Snaps from the hols

Few photes

I took a few amateur snaps over the hols, trying to use some new techniques my godfather taught me the other day. Despite my best efforts to fall back in love with my Olympus PEN, I still really want to get involved with the Canon 600D and start a lens collection. First on my list is the fixed 50mm f1.4. It's not particularly affordable, but I've read reviews and the bokeh is amazing. First pay packet....

Mood lighting. I swizzed up the shutter speed to max for this dark shot.
